after changing my job and being less tied down with work, i've resolved to make greater efforts to make my days (be it weekdays or weekends) more wholesome and fulfilling..and i'm glad i'm keeping to my word! whenever my schedule allows me to, i'll try to meet up with friends each week and of course, keep some days free to myself by going home for a nice homecooked meal. on weekends, i make sure i have them well-planned and spent.

this weekend is no exception =)

had a photoshoot at the event venue i'm managing on friday..was really tiring coz i was moving around in heels, shifting stuffs in the hot humid weather from 3pm all e way till 9 plus. was so glad to end off the day with a simple meal of hokkien mee and fried carrot cake with dear at the hawker place near Concorde hotel..our usual haunt when we have craving for hokkien mee =p and of course, not forgetting to satisfy our sweet tooth with a chilled refreshing drink and a rich chocolate cake at Coffee Club.

on saturday, instead of a jog, dear and i decided to cycle since he has 2 bicycles at his place..so we cycled frm his house to henderson wave for a small picnic of sandwhiches (which we made) and sushi..yummy! and then we returned to his place to wash up and rest a while before heading out to chinatown to visit some tour agencies to get some inspiration on holiday trips we can go on. been having a few places in mind but all not too suitable due to some factors =( so we gotta start from scratch again to decide on a holiday destination. i really want to travel this year, and of course every year too! haha.

anyway after dinner at a food centre in chinatown, we went to vivo to catch Robin Hood. this time we had the chance to experience how GV Gold Class is like, coz i had 2 free tics from my ex-boss previously. of course, e seats r really comfy but to pay $36 per ticket for it..with no food or beverage included is really not worth it! but anyhow, at least dear and i have experienced it for free! haha.

and as for today, i had to bring a couple to view my venue in e afternoon so decided to bring my parents to watch Ip Man 2 at tiong bahru after dat. it's been a looonngg time since i went to watch a movie with my mummy and daddy..like bout 10 years? omg..haha.

alrighty, just one collage to end off this post!

PS: next week is my birthday week =) i believe it'll be greatttt! except for e fact that i'm turning a quarter century old! =(

a lovely weekend spent as usual!

fri evening, dear and i decided to avoid town area and restaurants..so we made a trip to east coast park for dinner at the hawker centre..had duck rice, bbq chicken wings, satay, mini gultinous rice balls and mango sago..yum yum! we then went to McCafe for drinks..i like their frappes actually..pretty good stuff and for a reasonable price as compared to Coffee Bean/Starbucks! anyway, we headed home for an early rest after dat.

sat, i woke up in e morning to do some housework. then dear came over to my place ard 1pm and we had our jog to jalan kayu for lunch. after which, we got home to shower and did some research on e taiwan trip dat we r planning to make this year..really want to treat myself to a good holiday! by evening time, we headed out with my family for our mother's day dinner with my aunts, uncle and cousins. we had zi char at some coffee shop in bishan and then went over to my cousin's place to R&R and enjoy the spread of fruits and cupcakes which they prepared. it was a nice, cosy gathering with a turnout of 13 adults & 3 kids. and as usual, e cute little kids r always e best form of 'entertainment' for us..haha.

sun, it was my first sunday that i had to work..it was for a wedding show at St. Regis..but no complains working on a sun coz my weekdays aren't dat hectic..and i'm glad for e aesthetic and gastronomic experience i had there! i got to witness the beautiful and grand decor of e ballroom, enjoy live romantic music, watch e fashion show for Vera Wang's gown collection and whet my taste buds with good food =) the show ended by late afternoon and i got home to take a nap.

alright, now it's time for dinner and some leisure time in front of e tv. i'm so glad dat i'm not dreading my work days now..but of course i'll still be excitedly waiting for another lovely weekend to come!

it's e weekend updates again!

i realised i was in orchard for 4 days in a row..first of which was thursday where i met maxine for dinner. feels great to be able to meet friends after work for a nice dinner!

friday, i went to town for an appointment and stayed outside to work since i was meeting my ex-colleagues for dinner at Orchard Central. we went to Heaven's Loft..food is overpriced and not very nice..so not recommended! i left earlier as i had a movie to catch at Tiong Bahru wif dear and his friends..watched Iron Man 2 which ended ard midnight..then went to chill out at Mcdonald's before calling it a day.

saturday, i had labor day brunch wif RP girls at Saizeriya at City Square Mall..contrary to Heaven's Loft, e food is nice and pretty cheap..so we ordered quite a variery of stuffs - pasta, pizza, soup, garlic bread and chicken drumlets..and e drinks r free flow..so we sat there to enjoy e drinks till bout 2pm. then i went to meet dear at town again to do some shopping and we both managed to get some stuffs for ourselves! after shopping, we decided to try out e high-tea set at TCC which was quite nice..e canapes items and sweet pastries =) we then went to visit The Helix Bridge and Marina Bay Sands..and finally settled for a late dinner at Makansutra. also sat by e river at Esplanade to chit chat for a while before heading home.

as for today, i stayed home half of e day..had my morning jog and my dosage of tv shows before going out with my parents to orchard..did more shopping..and had dinner outside before going home. glad dat i'm able to spend more time with my parents, be it at home or outside since i started my new job. i am trying to make up for e times i neglected them coz i was so occupied wif my previous job and own social life.

anyway glad to say: so far so good at my new job! and working here make me realised how much i disliked my previous job and i can also feel my liveliness returning ever since i left dat job..so dat's something to be happy about it, isn't it? =)

my first week at my new job was pretty good! i'm enjoying what i do..and the pace at work is considerably comfortable. i even got to go for a massage and facial during e weekdays =) well, i expect work to pick up and i'll get busier but just hoping that it'll never be as hectic as my previous job!

ok now back to how i spent the weekend!

after work on fri, i met dear and we went to robertson quay for dinner..tried a new cafe called "Epicurious"..food was not too bad. after dinner, we went in search for a place for dessert but ended up walking all e way to town..and settled for cake & coffee at Blue Mountain Cafe at Somerset 313. after dat, we didnt feel like ending e night so soon, so checked out e movie timings at cine and bought tics for "Love in a Puff", a hongkong romantic comedy. and then it was home sweet home after e show.

on sat, i stayed home for lunch, then went over to ling's place to play mahjong wif e girls till evening. after which, we went to have a satisfying dinner at Pow Sing resturant at Serangoon Garden. anyway ling specially baked a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for me to congratulate me for my new job..sweet of her! =)

as for today, i woke up for a morning jog then slacked in front of e tv for a couple of hours before heading out to look for dear at his new house. he just moved in this weekend but most of e furniture are not in yet. we went with to vivo with his family to have dinner at Thai Express, as sort of a celebration for his dad's bday. e last stop at this new chinese dessert shop in vivo which i think is overpriced for e kind of dessert they serve.

alright, it's time to hit e pillows soon! now dat my life is not so busy and hectic, i hope to try to sleep by 12am whenever i can..really need to get more beauty sleep - can help to improve my complexion and lighten those dark circles! when one looks good, one'll feel good too! =)

it's one of e best weekends i've had, not because of e programmes i had, but coz it's e 1st time in 3 years dat i did not have to think about work..ok not entirely true also, i did think about work though i can actually choose not to already since friday was my last day. but i actually woke up on sat morning thinking about work and did my final version of handover doc for my new colleague. i just wanted to fulfill my responsibility till e very end..e heavy responsibility which was mine for 3 years is finally off my hands! it's indeed a wonderful feeling to be freed from tis job which had really drained me and made me unhappy.

alright so i shall leave e past behind..and update about my weekend!

sat - i went over to dear's place in e afternoon..had a craving for instant noodles, so cooked maggie curry noodles for lunch..my fav flavor from maggie! after dat, i slacked at his place surfing e net before heading out with his parents to their new house to check out the renovations. dear's finally moving out next week and we'll be of closer proximity to each other =) anyway we went to vivocity for dinner..settled for Shin Kushiya and famished us had a satisfying meal of a variety of items...and best of all, salmon sashimi! after which, it was home sweet home.

sun - i woke up very early to go tomb-sweeping with my family, including my aunts, uncles and cousins. travelled to 3 places, but luckily we were driven around..and our final destination was alexandra rd where we had a early dim sum + zi char lunch. after dat, i went back home to take a short nap before heading out to bugis to meet dear. we decided to go budget..so had dinner at e hawker centre..shared a plate of fried rice, zui kuay (which was good) and popiah. then walked over to e national library where i grabbed a book on wedding planning..feeling motivated to start enriching myself for my new job =) lastly, we went to iluma's cheeky chocolate to have dessert..drank a cup of hot chocolate and shared a plate of pancakes.

anyway, i didnt manage to give myself a break after a tedious and exhausting 3 year-long job coz i have to start work tomorrow at my new job. well, but no complains..coz i'm excited about it! shall be going to prepare e stuffs to bring to my new office tomorrow =) i really hope i'll be much happier at my new job..praying for e best!

i had a superb weekend! some time back, dear and i were making plans for our 2nd year anniversary celebration..and we thought it would be interesting to experience staying in a boutique hotel in singapore. so we decided upon this hotel by e name of 'Quincy' which had a pretty attractive promotion package. so this weekend was the celebration at Quincy!

on sat, we met in the morning at orchard and dear had his nasi lemak breakfast at OldTown White Coffee before we spent our following one and a half day at Quincy. we really enjoyed e stay at Quincy, which was a good place for us to just rest & relax and pamper ourselves =)

anyway what i like about the hotel is:
- the big tv monitor mounted on e wall which allowed us to connect to a laptop, so we could just slack on bed and watch our downloaded movies
- the bathtub and rain shower system coz e standard rooms in most boutique hotels dont provide that
- the all day internet access so i could surf net and facebook on my new laptop which i brought along
- the complimentary mini bar (containing canned & packet drinks, lays chips, cup noodle and tea bags) which we could help ourselves to
- the set lunch & dinner on top of the usual buffet breakfast which is included in e package. e food they served were quite good, i must say.
- the complimentary house pours, wine, beer & soft drinks served during cocktail hour from 6pm to 8pm..which i had my share of cranberry vodka and beer.
- the infinity pool with sauna and steam room which dear & i could have them all to ourselves in e late afternoon coz no one was using them

well we had a really cosy and relaxing time to oursleves this weekend..a simple celebration of our 2 years of love and also a timely period to celebrate the coming of our new jobs as well =)

after a such a wonderful weekend, it's time to get myself geared up for e final lap at work..it's my last week and i'll be rid of tis job! still very stressed though, coz i only have one more week to handover all my stuffs..well but i just have to get through it somehow...even if i have to leave it to miracles! haha.
