CSC Day 2006
pre-event: ytd our CSC Day organising committee had our veri last meeting to finalise everything b4 our big day. after e meeting, some of us tagged along wif some other csc frenz to taka to watch funkamania but we only managed to catch a glimpse of e last dance item..so we had a late dinner together b4 heading back to campus. did some packing b4 we slept over at the clubrm. i wasnt able to sleep well..my mind kept playing scenarios of e CSC Day event which was juz hrs away..guess i was really nervous bout it. finally morning came & we went for breakfast at Mac. after breakfast, e OC gt into full gear & started doing e decors & preparations.
actual event: i'm proud to say CSC Day 2006 has been a success!!! except for some minor glitches here & there & e pretty tight timeline..most of e event went on well. thankfully for all e volunteers who came down to help..they did a great job looking out for e residents & guiding them thru e various games. cld see dat e residents (e children, e intellectually disabled & e elderly) did enjoy themselves though it was pretty tiring. think e volunteers were also veri spontaneous & everyone was cheering one another on. it was really a great sight seeing everyone enthusiastically involved in e whole event. i juz cldnt help smiling=) then there was e superb Elephant Dance which everyone danced together..really veri happening haha..finally it was a touching sight when e event came to an end & e residents were ready to go back home..e smiles on e residents' faces when they collected their goodie bags & said their thank yous to the volunteers...i was really touched when one elderly shook my hand to thank me, gave me a hug & kissed me on e cheek. i'm sure e volunteers who shook hands wif e residents & received thanks from them felt e same way too. even e bidding farewell part when e volunteers waved goodbye to e residents was really touching..i'm nt sure if dat's how i feel coz it was my event..but really, it was a lovely feeling. i'm so happie dat e event is a success & everyone enjoyed themselves!
post-event: e feeling after e event is undescribable..juz feel kinda empty suddenly..coz it's like all e efforts e whole OC has put in 4 e event is all over in juz a few hrs..but e most fulfilling thing is dat it has at least brought joy to e residents who came down & i guess it was a gd experience 4 e volunteers too. thinking back to when i 1st joined e comm as APD, i hardly knew e PD..but we did managed to work quite well wif each other wif no problems or unhappiness..e rest of e organising comm comprised of many new pple too..& though our time working as a comm is considered rather short so we didnt really manage 2 build much of a bond..but everyone really put in their best efforts & u cld juz feel e OC spirit at e event today..i'm so proud of e whole OC! probably we may nt get to see much of each other after tis..but i believe we'll alwaiz remember tis special event in our hearts=)
