my room lamp died on me last nite so i'm actually unable to use e computer in my room. but decided dat i shall use my sis's com to blog since i hafta wait for my hair to dry anyway.
well i was heading for Chen Su Lan's Children Home today afternoon coz they had planned a family outing for e kids there. when i reached e busstop to change bus, i saw dat e bus i was gonna take had juz left. i knew i wld be late if i waited for e next one so i decided to get a cab coz i was afraid dat e chartered bus will leave without me if i was too late. little did i noe dat e cab experience wld be a bad one.
here's wat happened..when i gt onto e cab, i told e driver where i was heading to & he said he didnt noe where it was. ok forgiven since it's nt a prominent place. so i told him it's in Serangoon & near Chomp Chomp & he said he didnt noe how to get there. so i said i'll direct him. well as a non-driver, i dun really noe bout e traffic rules of where turning is allowed & where it's nt..all i can is give directions according to e bus route.
so there was tis point of time when i told e driver dat he had to turn right, & he said in Mandarin, " Why u nv tell me earlier, i cant turn here." but he still made e turning. as he was driving further down, we passed by a traffic police with a traffic camera & was taking down car plate numbers. dat was when e driver exclaimed dat he thinks he has gt a summon coz he drove into e bus lane. so he kept grumbling bout it after dat..although he actually doesnt really noe if his car plate no. was taken down. furthermore, he gt paranoid & was saying dat he probably also exceeded e speed limit at e time when he drove past e traffic police coz he was talking to me. he sounded like he was blaming me for it.
& i actually intended to ask him to drop me at tis place so i can juz walk in by myself but coz he was yakking on & on dat i cldnt stop him in time. so we had to go one whole round all e way into Srgoon Gardens and to my destination. he even made a few wrong turns along e way. it ended up dat i think if i took e bus, i wld haf reached CSL earlier & wldnt haf to waste my money on e cab fare & worst of all, let my ears suffer. although i'll feel a little bad if he really gets fined but then izzit really my fault? i mean..i'm juz a customer wanting to get to my destination..it isnt my duty to noe e traffic rules & e roads like as though i'm e driver rite? well & u noe wat, when i reached CSL, we still had to wait for bout 45 mins b4 we got on e chartered bus. great. i juz shldnt haf taken e cab..when i'm already quite broke =(
anyway wat went on after dat at least made my day better. CSL had organised an outing and games for e kids' families at Upper Pierce Reservoir. it was a yearly event which gave e kids & their family members a chance to spend time & haf fun together. i guess most of e kids & their family members had a great time today coz i think they really haf veri little chance to spend time like tis as a family. my kid's grandfather came along & he was so active in e games..really surprised us. but her mum juz sat aside & did nt participate at all.
actually i noticed dat most of e parents who went were e mothers. i hardly saw e fathers. well i think these kids r really innocent victims..they didnt haf a choice over how they cld lead their lives..they haf to live away frm their parents since young & only get to be wif them during e wkends. actually these kids r frm broken or problem families but i dun nt really noe their actual family background & it's a sensitive issue so unless e kids tell us themselves, or else we wldnt ask bout it. but sometimes i really wonder wat had happened.
anyway i muz say i'm really blessed coz i am given a complete family who loves me so much. wat more can i ask for? so whenever we wanna complain bout our family, we muz compare ourselves wif these kids to remind ourselves how fortunate we actually r.
anyway e final programme of e day was zhenhao's 21st bdae celebration @ his hse. e S8 pple played e "stock market" game for a while b4 we left & we almost laughed our heads off..haha. it was a gd game =) we shall play it again when we haf a chance for another gathering.
okie..hair's almost dry..it's time to head to bed coz i've gotta get up early tml.
