today i visited this blog site set up by my cousin's wife - who had passed on just a few days ago. in actual fact, i'm not close to this cousin of mine and thus do not exactly know his wife but i vaguely remember seeing her once at my other cousin's wedding and all that i knew about her was that she was suffering from cancer. i attended her last memorial service and sent her off at the Mandai Crematorium on Sunday. And it was then dat i found out that she actually set up a blog site to encourage fellow women suffering from cancer and had won Vanilla's magazine's inaugural Singapore Women Award. News of her passing was also featured on last friday's Today paper. when i read her entries at WeAreWonderWomen.com , i was inspired by how strong and optimistic she seemed, even though she was battling such a painful illness. And of course i feel a sense of admiration for my cousin, who has clearly demonstrated what is known as selfless love.
well sometimes, we need such inspirational stories to jolt us to reality, to realise how fortunate we are and how we should inject more meaning into our own lives as well as that of others. don't you agree?
