it's the first time Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day coincides on the same day..so Happy CNY and V'day!!!
since a couple of years back, CNY really does not feel like CNY to me anymore..all i'm grateful for is the break from work and some free time to spend with my family and friends!
so here's some updates on the past 2 days..
i declared an off day for myself on friday since i was working last weekend because of e bintan event. but as usual, i was working from home practically the whole day until 6 plus when i gt ready to leave e house to meet dear for our early Vday celebration - a nice, romantic dinner @ The Garden Slug, a cosy cafe tucked away in east coast area. we had a 3-course vday menu with wine in a dark room, with lighted candles and a guy singing love songs and strumming away on his guitar. and we presented each other with our presents during the dinner as well. dear got me my fav gerberas in 3 lovely colors and a new wallet to replace the one he gave me previously =)
anyway after e dinner, we headed down to bishan to catch e movie "Valentine's Day"..a pretty romantic movie, just e perfect movie for a romantic night! =p after dat it was home sweet home as it was already 1am in e morning.
sat morning, i woke up up at 11 plus..love e feeling of being able to sleep in late..been lacking of sleep recently because of the bintan event. anyway shuttled between doing some work stuffs and slacking around..before i started my sushi-making session wif my mum and sis..coz we decided to make some sushi for reunion dinner at my aunt's place. luckily, e sushi turned out fine! so in e late afternoon, we headed out to my aunt's place for our reunion dinner, as per every year. only sadly, this year is e first year we didnt have grandma with us at the dinner.
i always remember how e center of attention during previous reunion dinners was on grandma coz we would bring her out of the nursing home so she could join us for e dinner..and it was always nice seeing the smiles on her face when she see her kids and grandkids all gathered together. in fact, we could still vividly remember the last reunion dinner she had with us last year before she left us. alright, sad things aside! anyway we had a spread for dinner, as usual..and reunion dinner is always a time for us cousins to catch up coz we only see each other once a year. after our dinner, we stayed on to watch tv until 11 plus before heading home and going to lala land.
well today is another day i woke up at 11 plus..dat's one of the best things about a long weekend - i get to catch up on my rest =) well there's 2 and a half days more of break to cherish! will be back to update again!
